TS Panchayat Polls: TRS wave continues in erstwhile Nalgonda

In the first phase, elections were conducted for 551 gram panchayats in erstwhile Nalgonda district i.e. present day Suryapet, Nalgonda and Yadadri-Bhongir districts. TRS backed candidates have won 350 gram panchayats, where the results were declared by 6.30 pm and TRS candidates were leading with majority in several other gram panchayats where the counting of votes was still on till late in the evening.


In Devarakonda division of Nalgonda district, in which panchayat elections were conducted in first phase, TRS candidates were elected as sapranches to 52 gram panchayats.


In addition to this, elections were conducted for remaining 252 gram panchayats. As per the results announced by 6.30 pm, the TRS has won in 107 gram panchayats including 15 in Dindi mandal, 10 in Chinthapally, 14 in Nampally, six in PA Pally, 14 in Devarakonda, eight in Mallepally, six in Neredugumma, seven in Chandampet mandals.


TRS backed candidates won 36 of the 53 gram panchayats for which the results were declared in Suryapet Assembly Constituency by 7 pm.


Congress candidates won nine gram panchayats as against one by the TDP and two by BJP. In addition to this, TRS backed sarpanch candidates won from Kuchipudi thanda, Srirangapuram, Alavarapuram, Lakshmipuram and Mangali thanda grama panchayats in Kodad Assembly Constituency.
