Early polls are ruled out by KCR
Telangana | Written by : IANSHyderabad: Rebutting the Congress for spreading false notions amongst people, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao ruled out the possibility of early elections to Assembly. While answering to the discussion on motion of thanks to Governor’s address in the Legislative Council on Wednesday, KCR said being main opposition party, the Congress has greater responsibility and should not resort to statements which may send a wrong message to the people.
The Chief Minister asked the Congress to restrain from spreading negativism and start thinking positively over the development of Telangana. “There are no such plans and Congress should stop dreaming about early elections. We will go to polls as per schedule and people will judge when the time comes,” he said.Referring to the allegations of huge public debt, the Chief Minister likened the State with the USA. “It is the biggest global debtor which continues to remain superpower.”
Describing this as the wisdom of economy, the Chief Minister said that a miser would remain under-developed. “It’s part of the broad fiscal policy of the Government of India to take loans for development. This remains a dynamic idea and as we shall be paying back Rs 20,000 crore by the end of the financial year,” he noted.
KCR alleged that the Congress party was against development, as it knocked on the doors of Court for various projects and caused hindrance to ongoing projects. He said nothing can stop the government from going ahead with irrigation projects. Expressing satisfaction that the Telangana had now got rid of political corruption, KCR said that none can prove that the TRS government was indulging in corrupt practices. He pointed out that the beneficiaries for the government schemes were identified by the officials, unlike by MLAs during the earlier Congress regime.
On regularisation of contract employees, the Chief Minister asked the Congress to withdraw the cases filed in the High Court, so that the eligible candidates could get regular employment. He announced that thousands of NMRs and also Home Guards will be regularised in the coming days. KCR said that the government was gearing up to supply a total of 10,000 MWs of power in the coming days.
