Owaisi flays Congress for indifference
Telangana | Written by : Suryaa DeskHyderabad: MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi said that during the 60 years of Congress rule a total of 50,000 communal riots took place and Muslims were kept away from education and employment. He was addressing a public meeting on the occasion of 59th Revival Day of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen at Darussalam on Thursday.
Recalling the achievements of MIM, Akbaruddin Owaisi said it was on the representation of MIM that the Telangana government issued order that Muslims be treated on par with SCs and STs. He said that the problems of Muslim community could be resolved only by achieving political power.He also announced that the MIM would pressurise the State government to take action against the policemen who were involved in the fake encounter at Alair in which five Muslim under trials were killed. He said justice would be served to the families who lost their loved ones.
